About Us
Our story
It all started when Catherine was searching for herself. After quitting her job as a dentist without looking back, she was now wondering what to do. She started making donuts at home, for fun, and selling them in August 2020 at a small farmers' market kiosk at the Laurier metro station on Sundays, and later at Square St-Louis as well. From the very beginning, Catherine hired Kathleen to make the donuts together. She quickly became her head pastry chef. The donut craze was such at the markets that Catherine took the plunge and decided to rent a vacant commercial space in the middle of a pandemic to set up La Beignerie. The opening took place in June 2021. Catherine built a solid team, one person at a time, both in the kitchen and in the service department. There are now about fifteen of them working every day to prepare your delicacies.
What sets us apart
Our donuts are handmade, handcrafted every morning with the freshest ingredients. They're vegan, meaning they don't contain dairy, eggs, gelatin, or any other animal products. Even our homemade ice cream is vegan!
#It'sBeigneForAll
Each month, La Beignerie gives back to a cause we care about in our community, primarily to those who have no voice and those in need. Sometimes this involves monetary donations, donuts, or a percentage of sales. Here are some of our recipients:
